Title: Help identifying part of this circuit in this custom pedal
Post by: scott_v on March 13, 2013, 01:15:50 PM
I recently got this custom made pedal, and I was told it was a dual blue box and fuzz face.  Its pretty nice and cool sounding but the "octave" side doesn't sound like a blue box, also when I look at the circuit it definitely does not seem to be a blue box because i don't see the two IC chips on the board (see photo) the circuit that is vertical along the one wall of the enclosure is definitely a fuzz face w/ BC108 trannies.  The trannies I think are most or all 2N5089s on the octave side. I may need to provide some better shots but i'll start with this one.  It has 2 pots, didn't check pot values would have to report back if needed, one pot is volume the other controls the amount of octave. My guess is that it could be a green ringer? i dunno...

A blue box does octave down, not up like a green ringer. 2 octaves down actually but can be modded for 1.  If this is an octave down, I'd say it's probably based on the Shocktave circuit.
