Hey folks...
I've been futzing with this thing for hours now and can't suss it out...
I've got here an early NYC Reissue Muff which I've converted to true bypass.
Added a new super bright led and upped the clr to 4.7k
Now the led stays dimly lit in bypass... I can't figure it out...
I've noticed when the circuit is out of the box it works just fine; the led behaves normally. But as soon either or both I/O jacks touch the steel enclosure, the led takes on a dim glow in bypass.
The circuit works perfectly otherwise...
I wired it up using the same TB scheme as the later NYC Muffs...
I did replace the shoddy stock jacks with Neutriks, but I doubt that would affect anything...
Any help you guys might provide is super appreciated.
Sounds like the LED is grounding out against the enclosure causing it to stay lit. This has happened to me numerous times.
Could also be a grounding issue. If your enclosure picks up significant noise it could cause a waveform on your LED, causing it to appear dimly lit. Try putting an electrolytic cap in parallel with the LED off the bypass switch, maybe 10uF or so.
Not picking up any noise...
I just upped the clr to 11k and that took care of it.
