Title: First time pcb board eagle order from Australia help!
Post by: njkmonty on March 23, 2014, 07:59:05 AM
Hi Im almost completed an eagle design and wondering those of you who are in australia, who do they use to make their pcbs?
the only one ive come across is futurelec. Can anyone give advice, Im still trying to get my head around using eagle, it seems to me that putting an order through  requires a lot of prior knowledge to minimise ordering stuff ups etc, also i notice options regarding board colours/ board thicknesses copper thickness es etc, I guess the electronic expert is well informed in this kind of thing, but for first timers there appears to be a lot of parameters which are needed to be known when getting a fabhouse board made?
can anyone advise give suggestions?

This you literally just download their Design Rules from there site. Here (http://oshpark.com/LaenPCBOrder.dru)

Save it here C:\Program Files (x86)\EAGLE-6.5.0\dru or wherever eagle is installed.

Goto Eagle and click the Design Rule Check button.

Click LOAD then select the one you just downloaded. Then click apply and run the design rule check. If it says there are no errors. You can just submit your BRD file to OSHPARK. It'll be named <whatever>.BRD Then upload it there.

They even give you a nice image of what the board should look like. The price they quote is for 3 Copies of the board including SHipping.

how do i download the design rules ?
i just get a page with writing?

ive looked in the eagle 6.4.0 dru folder and it currently has a description file and a default.dru file.

i gather somehow i need to get the above links info into a dru file?

http://oshpark.com/LaenPCBOrder.dru

STOP PRESS!

in stead of clicking on link , i right clicked "save link as"      and downloaded a "LaenPCBOrder.dru" file
i gather this is what you are talking about?
