Hey, guys. New here, but been a visitor for a while. So I have built a Clyde McCoy clone with one problem. When plugged in and engaged, the pedal passes a bright signal like it is full open, but does not wah. I am not sure if this is due to a fault in the wiring for the pot or an inductor issue. Both are new (McCon O Con pot and Whipple inductor). Probably just a little fumble on the wiring on my part. Any hints or tips would be great. Thanks!
Is the pot rotating through it's full range via the treadle might be something simple like the rack gear is loose or not engaged easy enough to do forget to tighten the plastic locating thing or set the pot gear the wrong way etc.
Probably best to put some pictures of the board up both sides and the off board wiring
I've found with most non wah'ing wahs or those that act like a volume pedal it's usually down to an inductor problem
It could be an inductor problem, but I highly doubt it. When you look at the typical wah schematic there is a cap to ground, usually 4.7uF, that's connected to one leg of the inductor. When that cap isn't connect to the circuit or faulty the wah will act like a volume pedal. But; to me I think it's more then just that. Like what was said already, post some pics of your board, top & bottom, and the wiring. It's the best way, along with the description of the problem.
