Title: Copper weight for 9 volt pedal projects?
Post by: SJ on March 01, 2015, 11:10:53 AM
Hi all first post here. Just started building a couple pedals and ordered some copper clad blank pcb's without realizing it was FR-4, .060. 1/2 oz stock  ,   is 1/2 oz copper suitable for pedals? should i have gotten 1 or 2 oz?.

.5oz is fine. It really boils down to trace width and the amount of current flowing through said traces. If you were planning on building something that has a few amps running through it then you'll need some fat traces. A stompbox running on a 9v supply is a non-issue. You wouldn't be able to etch traces that thin. :)
