Title: Tone dead!!!!
Post by: Kipper4 on November 10, 2015, 06:03:29 PM
Hey guys
So I made a screamer type circuit nothing extra ordinary and decided to try an active baxandall on the output.
Clipping amp, voltage follower, active bax.     All op amp.
I'm getting dead spots when adjusting the tone controls.
Why would this happen.
What could be a good remedy
Thanks
Rich

The active bax can be found here at the bottom of the page.

Edit
Did I mention it's on a breadboard.

If by "dead spots" you mean no tone adjustment (variation) does it happen with both tone pots..???

Naa mate i mean i got no sound at all.
I put a series resistor before it and its tamed it. I guess it didnt like the clipping amps output impedance.
Its not cutting out now. something are still niggling me though. #highpitchedsqueel.

Strange thing Rich..

Tone control has it's own series resistors (10k for Bass & 3k9 for Treble - if you didn't alter values..) so it shouldn't happen something like that...

edit: You've told that there is a buffer between clipping amp and tone control.. This complicates more the "no sense" situation..
