Subject says it all really. I've got a few old metal can CA3130 op-amps to use up. Gotta be plenty of mojo in those ;) At the very least, it'll hum and look funky.
It's a single op-amp, a la 741. It's described in the datasheet as "15MHz, BiMOS Operational Amplifier with MOSFET Input/CMOS Output"
Are there any good circuits that could make use of them? Recommendations please!
I was wondering about some single-op-amp distortion box like the RAT, mostly because then it'd be a "Canned Rat". :icon_twisted:
Thanks,
Tom
Penfold auto wah Tom.
I have the chip too and for this build. Years later I still haven't gotten round to soldering it.
Let us know what you decide.
Rich
Ps I found this.

It makes a nice a 50ohm amplifier for a signal generator!

Maybe sub 2n2219A and 2N2905A for the transistors.
(need small heatsinks on the o/p transistors)
[Edit: Actually I screwed-up here. The circuit I gave is for the CA3100 (a fast opamp).]
I put an IC CA3130EZ (I think it was 3130) in my Rat clone, after the metal can LM308 failed. It sounds unbelievable. Loud and vicious. Worth a try at least if you have a socketed IC in a Rat pedal.
the honeybee/yellow shark specifies a CA3130.
Cool, so I've got a distortion, an overdrive, and an envelope filter to do!
Thanks all,
Tom
