Title: Thanks to you! My 1st pedal - "SHOverdrive" with clips
Post by: LeicaBoss on November 01, 2017, 03:25:55 PM
My first post - I'd like to thank this board for all the great information and insight. I'd only built two kits in the past and decided to "design" my own pedal. It's a "SHOverdrive" Super Hard On Boost into a clipping section, tone control and master volume.

I took your advice on a number of elements of the build, including the highpass out of the boost, inspiration from "El Pistolero" for how the clipping might work, the AMZ Stupid Wonderful tone and pot values.

This pedal is great because it doesn't break up right away, so you get that nice "little extra" thing a SHO does, with a tone to dial in a little more or less chime. The clipping is really nice, gritty a bit, but responsive to pick attack and guitar volume. It can get outright nasty.

I'm using it stacked into a Zen Drive or another SHO or in front of a FUZZ to wildly change its character.

Thanks again!

I really really like it.

I may steal that Idea, if you don't mind =)

I kind of stole it, too... So have at it!
