So, I have a Hartke Kickback 10 that has a HS1200 amplifier in it. It's a great amp and about the only other thing I could ask for other than maybe a built in compressor is a line input of some kind for practice.

Could I simply sum the left and right channels with resistors and then insert at the red circle right before the power amp stage?

You mean, like an iPod?
First: a legible schematic:

(be patient!)

You will be fighting IC105-B, which is a zero impedance. You need to break-in more resistance.

Sorry about the resolution. I didn't realize it dropped so much when I uploaded it.
Yeah, I'm wanting to plug my phone in so I can just turn on and play.a Just to make sure I understand, just swap out the 100r for a 10k and then tap in just on the other side of the resistor from where I originally indicated? Will this attenuate the signal from the instrument appreciably?
With nothing in iPod jack, signal is 90% of before, which is a part-notch on the Volume knob.
With iPod in use the gain drops enough to be obvious, but if you are iPodding you probably are not trying to *fill* a club.

Thank you sir! I'll have a go at it when I get the amp back. I have a friend borrowing it for a musical at the moment. Should just be a matter of tracing it out to find that point and then figuring out where to mount the whole thing on the chassis.
