Title: Boss CE2 and VB2 differences
Post by: Dimitree on March 25, 2020, 08:10:41 PM
so I'm wondering if there are substancial differences between the CE2 chorus and the VB2 vibrato.
Of course, the obvious differences are the lack of dry signal in the VB2 output, and the Rise circuitry that acts on the LFO depth.
But besides that, are they actually almost identical?
I see some differences on the two LFO (the VB2 looks more complicate), but I can't understand if that actually makes any (and what) functional difference

It's different in the VB-2, but the vibrato setting on the CE-1 used a sinusoidal waveform.  Vibrato just sounds more natural with a sine wave LFO.  The other major difference is the use of a VCA in the form of IC4 to ramp up the intensity of the LFO.
