Hi again.
Question. I have a couple of spdt switches(3 pin) that are not used. Is it possible to put these in diy effect pedals? Normally you'll see them in dunlop wahs but i don't know how to wire these in a standard pedal. Anyone knows how to do this ?
Tnx

The limitation of a single pole switch in a pedal is that while you can switch the guitar signal between the circuit board and the output jack, the board output will have to be permanently connected to the same output jack which will mess with the signal when you're in bypass.
A second pole is needed to switch the board output at the same time as the input is switched and a third pole is mighty handy for the LED.
Of course you could always use the switch to power relays which in turn do all the clever switching but by the time you've bought the relay and a board to mount it, a standard 3pdt switch looks much easier
Normally with 1 pole you must switch the Output. Most active outputs will completely swamp a guitar's output. An active input can bridge a guitar without "much" tone-suck.
Ok thanks for the replies! I'll leave them where they are :icon_lol:
I'll stick with 3pdt.
Keep them handy, you CAN use them for other 'functions' inside effects pedals, though! :) Perhaps switching between different clipping diodes and so on...
i use those for ''voice 1//2'' options.
like a fuzz with either harsher clipping diodes or a mid scoop, and such a switch selects which ''channel'' is on.
or have it switch a bright or fat cap, or a gain boost.
cheers
Yeah i will keep them for sure.
As we say in holland.. who keeps some, got some :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

Scotty from Marketing tells us "have a go to get a go".
The British expression for this situation is to "save one for a rainy day" which means they'll be useful at some point in the future... quite how far into the future is anyone's guess, so never throw any components away is the obvious decision to make!
