Title: Component suppliers in the USA
Post by: slashandburn on January 17, 2023, 01:13:16 PM
Hey everyone, haven't been around for a while, just checking in with a quick question for the USA based folks.

In the UK but need to order a couple of TC1044SCPA and ship them to a fella in Baltimore. First thought was mouser or similar but most suppliers have a minimum order. Where should I (or he) go for these.

Cheers in advance!

Last I used Mouser (say, 1 year ago), they had no minimum order requirement.  The TC1044SCPA shows as in stock, at US $1.31 each...I've always had good service from them!

Cheers. I've used them before (to get stuff delivered here) and they've been great tbh. Swear the last time they unbelievably got my order shipped (from Texas or somewhere on Friday) and it was at my door on the Monday morning.

Maybe I've misremembered the minimum order, or they have a handling change for us UK people if the order is under a certain amount. Will double check. Thanks!

Great list too! Thanks FSFX. I thought Small Bear had closed though? Did I dream that?

They closed for a while but were taken over and have started trading again.

Yup. You can find the SB catalog through Synthcube's page as well - in case you need to place an order from both inventories.

Also, I'm convinced that Amplified Parts and AES(tubesandmore) operate from the same store.
Look at their site's home page and tell me otherwise  :icon_lol:

Welcome to.... the twilight zone.

Oh yeah an actual answer.
When mouser fails (which is rarely for me) I go digikey. These two are the largest electronics distributors in the states.
I was unaware of mouser's min order. Maybe I've been ordering too much crap lately  :icon_lol:

Worth noting: I placed a mouser, digikey and tayda order all on Thursday.
Got the tayda order today and the other two are expected tomorrow.

That must be,
Capacitors
Resistors
Amplifiers
Potentiometers
Good crap to have around.

Been ordering from Small Bear ++

Oh for sure. Every time they send an email I get 3 of them: duplicates from AES, Amplified Parts, and the wholesaler one  (whose name I forget)

I always assumed AES/tubesandmore was a marketing affiliate relationship, i.e. they get a sliver of the sale which goes to Amplified Parts' parent company... but I have no actual idea.
