Title: New reference site for SpinCAD Designer
Post by: Digital Larry on May 03, 2023, 10:15:30 PM
Last year, sensing that the company I was working for wasn't doing so well, I once again poured a fair amount of energy into SpinCAD Designer.  However I made the dumb choice of setting it up under Patreon, which is just like an unrolling paper towel (cough) roll that just goes on and on and whatever's at the top is important and everything else just drifts away unless you want to search or browse linearly.

I'm about halfway done transferring the articles from Patreon into Gitbook, which I had used at that job (which disappeared last October).  I am now on an audio DSP consulting gig, so things could be worse.  And they could be better, but isn't that the way things generally are!

If anyone wants to submit an article about SpinCAD or the FV-1 or DSP in general let me know.

TL;DR

Cool beans Larry! The GitHub site is much more friendly for finding and re-finding your articles. Thanks!

(I think some of the image links are broken. At least, when I looked at the "Analyzing a simple SpinCAD Builder file" article.)

Yes, some of it is broken at the moment.  Knowing that people are looking will encourage me to fix it.   8)

This is fantastic! Just enough technical stuff to make things make sense!

Glad to know I'm like 5 years late to the party, and probably won't get to far with it, but learning is great. Your writing is technical and concise, but not overly burndening and boring.

I'm interested to see where you go with the envelope/etc stuff.

Hey Rob, I finished moving all the existing articles from Patreon over to Github, and I turned the Patreon site off.  So the first link on your page (to download SpinCAD Designer) should be changed to:

https://github.com/HolyCityAudio/SpinCAD-Designer

For anyone else, if you have questions about SpinCAD, please ask them here, and if the answer is general purpose enough I will put it on the Gitbook site.  I have not finished documenting everything but now I can chip away at it a bit at a time and still feel like I'm making progress.
