Title: Boost built into amp input jack?
Post by: sonic66 on February 13, 2025, 04:23:57 PM
Hi All,

Looking for any links or ideas for boosts for a tube amp input jack.

Granger amps has a couple of options superFET jack and another using PN4392.

I like the idea of the superFET jack as the gain can be adjusted with a trimpot that is accessible through the input jack.

It m sure I've seen this elsewhere years ago.

The aim is to modify a fender style high low jack arrangement to high and boosted.

Is my own diy tube amp and I am experience with the safety with the b+ voltage

What do you suggest?

Hey! That's pretty cute!!

Any amp can be pot-adjusted, on the input or the output.

Wasn't an extra preamp stage a key to the first Mesa Boogie amplifier?
