Interesting.  For the most part, it is simply a diode-pair clipper like the Blue Clipper, some issues of the Muff Fuzz, the Distortion+ etc.

On the other hand the series diode-cap network to ground is something I've been curious about.  The old JC120 amps had a similar arrangement for their distortion, but with a higher value cap for diode-pair 1 and a larger value for diode-pair 2.
