Could it be some clone of the maestro filter sample & hold? I believe I once read something like that...  8)

Sounds like a Maestro Filter/Sample&Hold (Oberheim VCF). Is it supposed to be a clone?

Does anyone think that the Output Impedence spec. is a typo?

If not that could cause some problems.

It does say: "FET Buffer Circuitry at the final stage gives high power output amplification to create a warm and natural overtone sound."

So I guess it must be a typo.

I'm pretty sure it is a Filter S&H with the addition of some jacks for controlling it w/ an expression pedal.

Hearing some work done w/ it was the catalyst for me making a layout for the Filter S&H.

Let's be clear about one thing.  It is not "just" a Maestro/Oberheim S&H clone, in the sense of "all those guys did was rip off Tom Oberheim".  It was a public service to resurrect the circuit and re-introduce it.  Kudos to them for doing so, since nobody else seems to have been pondering S&H-type effects.

I like this pedal a lot. It sounds a lot like the Maestro, but smaller and cooler.

I only wish I could have afforded it when it was in my hands....

I hope no one thought I was putting it down as some sort of cheap ripoff or something. That wasn't my intent. It just sounded familiar to me, and it hit me, Voila! Sounded like the Maestro unit. I don't know anything about it, and yes it is good to see this sort of thing come back commercially. Maybe it will catch on.

I think with us diy-ers it's been pondered quite a bit. :)  Personally, I've been pondering it now for 2-3 years. :)  Now, if I could just get to *building* it...

It's not a clone of the Oberheim, per se, but it's based of the circuit, as most to all analog random appregiators are.  The exp input and the freq knob are unique to this one, however.
