Title: Can I get a decent Stompswitch in Australia??
Post by: Neutral on November 18, 2003, 08:48:02 AM
The only place I can find them is Jaycar, and I have to say they're not the best.  Mine broke after two months!
Got any leads Australians?
Cheers

No, you gotta order from overseas. Altronics also have those stomps, probably at a cheaper price.

Mike B is right. Australia is great for fresh produce, but lousy for stomp switches. I have had a word to Altronics about their X-wings, some batches seem better than others (maybe lube don't know).

I find the Jarcar X-wings ok.  After 20 or so boxes over 2 years, I've only had problems with 1.  Somebody said a while back that they were noisey, but I think they must have had a circuit that lacked pull-down resistors, or something - mine are quiet at mice.  However, I've not tried a Carling switch yet (the cost is unreasonable, I reckon).

After a couple of loud Altronics switches the latest batch (bought within the last 6 months) all seem to be pretty good. They do pop occasionally on a first switching after not being used for a while.

I'd be happy to sign any petition to get Altronics or Jaycar to bring in a 3pdt switch
