Title: Odie, Blackfire PCBs, overlays
Post by: brett on November 19, 2003, 07:52:39 PM
Just to let people know that these are available at my website (near the bottom of the page).  The Odie/OD2 is cool (it's a runoffgroove.com circuit) and the Blackfire (Joe Davisson's circuit) is mean!

Hey Brett,

Didn't you use to have an amplifier circuit up? The Pale Blue Box I believe. I was planning on building that one.

I added a heavily revised version of Odie (http://runoffgroove.com/odie.html) to RunoffGroove yesterday.  The architecture is the same, but many of the cap values were tweaked for a more focused sound.  So, Brett's PCB layout can be easily adapted for the new version.

A perf layout has been added as well.

In recognition of Brett's OD2, the new Odie is v3.0

Thanks guys.  I put the Pale Blue Box back up on the site.  Also, after building Brian's Odie with 2 x 4.7uF bypass caps, I eventually changed back to 4.7uF and 1uF caps (lowering the gain quite a bit).  I see that Brian's new version (Odie v3 now) has 4.7 and 2.2uF caps, so we fairly much agree on values.  I found that the larger (2 x 4.7uF) caps made the Odie a bit too wild - in the same league as my Blackfire (and that's really saying something!).
