Title: Recommend a box?

Can anyone recommend a nice long, narrow metal enclosure for making a looper box with multiple switches mounted in a row? Does Mouser sell anything like this?

Yes, very much like that, but I was hoping for something pre-made. Are there commercially available enclosures like that?

Check mouser's hammond enclosure section-you should be able to find something to suit you in there.

I would have thought there were some standard aluminium extrusions that wold do.
Failing that, it would be possible to bolt a few standard boxes end to end! (would look cute if they were different colors).

Thanks guys. I took a closer look at some of the other types of Hammond boxes besides the standard diecast ones. Looks like one or two of them should work.

dave -- al lasher in berkeley has a decent selection of enclosures in stock. if you need something in a hurry, you may want to check them out.

Thanks, Ian. Are you also here in the Bay Area?

I've been meaning to head over to Al Lasher's one of these weekends. Never been there. It seems that good electronics stores are hard to find in the Bay Area...ironic since we're well-known as a hub for high-tech industries.

Peter Snowberg sent me a nice list of some of the remaining stores in the area. I'd been heading up to the one in San Rafael...they have Hammond boxes, but man are they expensive (especially factoring in the bridge toll). Perhaps I'll check out Al Lasher's this Saturday.
