Title: Mogami & Canare Cable
Post by: MRTelec on December 05, 2003, 02:49:59 PM
Hi,

This is sorta off topic, but I'm not having any luck finding a site that carries Mogami 2524 and Canare cable and either Switchcraft or Neutrik plugs.  I found one site - Toursupply.com - but they want $17 shipping on a $50 order.

Thanks for any help.

I humbly request the same.

I know there was some decent quality cable, 1000 feet or so, on ebay for like $50 shipped a few days back... don't know if it's still there.

I just ordered some Mogami 2549, along with a huge sack of XLR connectors, from Redco.

www.redco.com

They don't have an online shopping cart, but I submitted a form with what I wanted and a dude called me this afternoon, talked to me a bit, actually recommended a cheaper version of one of the panelmount jacks I was getting (saying that it's the new standard rather than the old Switchcraft size) and then took my CC information and told me when my order would ship. Prices were good on the connectors too- $1.86/ea for Neutrik XLR jacks, $0.60(-ish) for open-frame TS 1/4". Can't beat that!

PS- They have Canare stuff too, notably the Star Quad, which a lot of folks like to use.

Thank you very much for the link.  Their cable prices are excellent.  Is shipping reasonable?  That's where most of 'em get you.

I think it was twenty bucks or so... but... I ordered a couple hundred feet of wire, and over 300 connectors....
