Title: Ground Loop Problems, need an isolation circuit
Post by: nirvanas silence on December 05, 2003, 06:28:16 PM
This is sort of off topic but it involves circuits so I figuere I would ask.  I am getting huge ground loop hum  through my speakers when I hook up my coaxial cable for my cable TV.  I basically need to isolate the line level RCA left and right jacks from the cable lines ground.  Are there any good circuits to try?  Thanks.

Check the jensen transformer site.  They make transformers for AV as well as audio.  I believe they make something for the problem you have IIRC

Thanks, but they have no prices for it.  I have a feeling it is gonna be expensive.  I am going to try hooking up my transformer and seeing how it goes.  I will be back later.

I just hooked up some Mouser transformers I have and it works great.  No hum.  Thans to GGG.com for the model number.
