Couple of questions about the octavia project at General Guitar Gadgets -

1.  On the schematic and the layout there is a cap, C3 that is 0.001uf and is polarised, yet in the parts list it's listed as either film or ceramic.  I've never seen an electro, or a tant this small - what should I use here?  Just a standard non-polarised film?

2. I've got the suggested transformer from mouser, it has 3 leads coming out of the secondary instead of the two shown in the schematic - do I just not connect the middle lead?

thanks

tim

For the .001 cap - I'm gonna hafta say its a misprint in the schem. Both the parts layout and the bill of materials contradict it, and I believe I just went film on that and it was fine.

Yes the third lead on the transformer goes to nothin'. I just let it lay on the non-copper side of my PCB.

The schematic at Fuzzcentral shows it as a non-polarized cap. The Octavia is my next project too. I have all the parts and hopefully will get started this weekend.

Looks like it's probably a 1000pf ceramic.  It's the round orange cap in the middle.
