Title: joe davisson easy drive
Post by: youngi on December 12, 2003, 07:41:02 AM
hii.
as all the reviews say about this very little circuit,  IT'S FANTASTIC for its size and difficulty.
i made it in 1 hour on a bread board. really guys if u make it, u'll have a lot of fun.

i'm going to post a sample soon.

so , coz i did it on the breadboard, i can hear hummmming in the speakers, does this noise dissapear if i put it in a metal enclosure??
and by the way, the hummming decreases if i put my hand on the guitar strings.

thx

if the humming disappears with your hands on the strings,
that means that you need to ground the circuit.  make sure that
it isn't a different part of your signal chain, or your amp.

i would put the effect in the enclosure and ground the circuit to it.

good luck.

Shielded wire between the input and output of the circuit and input and output jacks helps. Hey, I never used a shielded wire! Maybe this is the reason for my Obsidian be noisy.
