Title: Small Stone+Micro Amp
Post by: petemoore on December 13, 2003, 10:14:27 AM
Ok to defeat the SS's volume drop I put a Micro Amp between the SS ckt output and the stompswitch...it works ...but...
It seems kinda cruddy, like volume is dependant on a  power supply that's sagging? [descript bloze but] when I hit a hard note sometimes it will swell or drop in volume...
Is there anything inherently wrong with addin a OA booster like this to the SS's power supply?
Any ideas I might want to try before I like pull the Micro Amp bak out of there?
Besides the other symptoms it boosts, but messes with the sound of the phazor too much IMO.
Gonna try a different one, probably transistor booster...anyone try this adding boost to beat the volume drop on a SS? What did you find that works well for that?

I'm pretty sure there is a mod to get rid of the volume drop. If I remember well it is described in the Build reports on Tonepad (http://www.tonepad.com).
