Title: TL072 for TL022?
Post by: bioroids on December 24, 2003, 08:14:42 AM
I'm building the dod 595 phaser. Can I replace the tl022 opamp with tl072?
Also can I switch from 18v to 9v without modiffications (or minor modifications) or a complete redesign of the circuit is needed?

Any help is really needed

Thank you ahead and merry christmas

Miguel

I think the TL062 is a better replacement.
Take care

An LM358 might be better, these are widely available.

Hi everyone.
Thanks for your help.

I'll check that LM358. I'm thinking on using quad opamp packages, like the tl064. Does this one comes also en quad versions?

Good luck

Isn't that TL074?  :?

LM358 = dual, LM324 = quad

That DOD unit uses TL022's for the audio,  not a great choice.  The LM358/LM324 are equally boarderline for audio.  Use the TL062/TL064 instead.  FYI, the Ibanez Jet phaser uses LM324's.  Perhaps the only good position for the LM358 is the two LFO opamps.

I prefer to build it with better quality stuff, that's why I asked in ther first place. Then I'll go with TL064 like Boofhead recommends.

I'll let you know what happens, probably I'll need more help in building this, thank's God for this forum!

If it turns out right and sounds good I'll come up with a PCB layout so other's can build it easier than me.

Good luck and thanks
