Hi everyone, i'm sure this was asked before (i'll search the archives after I post this).
How can I replace the optocoupler on the dod 595, or where can I find some equivalences for the VTL5C4/2 (led+photocell).
Is any IC maker making some kind of led+photocell device? It seems they make only transistor/scr/etc output optocouplers
I thank any help or advice in advance.
Regards
Miguel
There are a number of Vactrol units available from their stock list..
I'm trying but the site doesn't work right, I think because they're on vacation.

Some data from a VTL5C4/2 that I got (send me an e-mail and I send it to you)
VTL5C4/2
Led current 0mA: R=400k
Led current 1mA: R=1.5k
Led current 40mA: R=150
VTL5C3/2
Led current 0mA: R=10M
Led current 1mA: R=55k
Led current 40mA: R=2k
I'm sure Small Bear has the VTL5C3/2, I'm not sure about the VTL5C4/2
Bye,
Joep
Allied Electronics, Inc. has the VTL5C4/2 in stock. They're priced @$2.64ea. The stock number is #980-0725. The web address: http://www.alliedelec.com/default.asp
Allied also carries other popular Vactec style optoelectronics made by PerkinElmer Optoelectronics. This is if you can't get one from Small Bear. I hope this helps :D
Thats great info, thanks a lot.
Anyway I live in Argentina, I'll have to deal with shipping and stuff, so I'll wait till Steve at smallbear returns to order a few more things.
Thanks
Miguel
