Title: Looking for a really cool tone here!
Post by: Lobsang on December 28, 2003, 06:13:11 PM
Hi everyone,
I am looking for a cool midrange crunch tone for rhythm uses in my band, tried a couple circuits but its never quite right. Today I heard this tone: it has to be just like Brian May playing the "We will rock you" break.
I know Brian uses treb-boosters and Vox amps. I also know that kind of circuit is quite temperamental since I built some of them already and Im not planning to buy a Vox amp. I need a circuit that sounds like that on a clean amp, I think its not impossible... Do you know of such a pedal? I never tried FET based distortions, maybe I should start there? Thanx in advance and happy 2004 for all.
