Title: wiring help.. can't understand why this is acting crazy led
Post by: Ansil on January 04, 2004, 03:38:52 AM
IN THIS PIC THE LEFT HAND SWITCH IS TURNED SO IT SWITCHES FROM SIDE TO SIDE.  AND THE ONE ON THE RIGHT IS SWITCHING FROM TOP TO BOTTOM.  LIKE NORMAL

this photo shows the wiring of a circuit i am doing for a friend. now while the audio works as it is supposed too.  and all the contact points on both switches function like they are supposed too.  the led is crazy.

basically it has a blue 5v led for a primary indicator for on or bypass.  and a red and green channel with coresponding leds.

so it should switch between channels and the blue led should remain on untill it is in bypass mode..   hah hah ahah ..

no such luck   the blue led works normally as long as i am in red mode.  it cuts on and off via the switch and is fine. but when i cut the gain down into the green mode wich is rhytmn mode the blue led turns off.  it isn't groundign out.  but it doens't cut on and off no more.

any thoughts.????

try using a seperate current limiting resistor between V+ and the anode of each LED

If I understand it correctly...  this is what you are trying to do...  the right side switch turns the whole Led chain off/on.   The left switch turns on the red or green according to which channel is selected.  The Led resistor values are just to show that they need not be equal in value...  of course, you could also have separate resistors on the red and green Leds as well.
