Title: schem for spst true bypass with led?
Post by: javacody on January 04, 2004, 01:29:49 PM
Does anyone have a schem to use a spst switch and get true bypass as well as use an led. Please don't respond with use a dpdt or 3pdt as I really want to learn how to use the cheapest parts available.

using a spst, I think a latching relay with a flip-flop driver circuit is your only option. however, considering an alpha dpdt costs ~$5, you're probably not going to save any money that way.

if you used a buffered "boss-style" bypass, you could save yourself a little money if you consider your time worthless.

there's really not many options I'm afraid

Thanks for the advice, but if I wanted to save time or money, I would buy used, already made effects, wouldn't I?   :)

Some things a guy wants to know, just to see if something is possible.

A simple relay circuit using $2.00 DPDT relays I just posted

sorry the schematic is crude, but it works well.  I'm using it in the compressor I just built.

Try the 4053 switch from this site.

I'm very pleased with it. Sounds good, no pop when hitting the switch.
