I took some advice from some thread i was reading about taking your time debugging a problem and how not to let it stress u out. My Multi-face decided-for many reasons- that it did not want to work. Well, I gave it a little time each night trying diff thing and today it decided to work. Im sure it'll sound even better after I change the 25k pot to the required 5k ( or at least ill find out if any diff is made) But I get a nice little fuzz with it using 2n3904, 2n5089, 2.2+ incap and .1 end cap. I think thats listed as being close to the classic fuzz.. I think im going to try to aquire some 2n7000's for a harsher sound. Might even make another..So many projects, so little time. I figured it out looking at Runoffgroove.com and GGG's fuzzface.
And nearly infinitely as fun to diddle with as play/take your choice or have both.
Such a pleasure when they do 'finally' fire up after a lenghty de-bugging.
I just finished a YAFF [like my umteenth FF type ckt], after not building much for sometime [since the GE's FF's and TB's] and used two Q's for Q1
ala piggy back and darned if that FF thing didn't just take a new twist for the better...who wouldda thunk that could evey happen to such a degree 'again'. lloll Yet 'ANOTHER" Fuzz Face...everybody should heve at least ONE !!!
hey jimbob glad you got it working...the 2n7000's i have sound more "tubey" than fuzzy, and are way less harsh sounding than say a bc547 or other high gainers that i have. they have a permanent spot in my multi's q2. this circuit is gonna have you zombiefied after the 14,000th tranny and cap swap. i didnt sleep well for 3 days after mine started working. have fun and get at least a little sleep!
