Title: Diff btw tonepad amz mosfet booster/GGG's amz mosfet booster
Post by: jimbob on January 16, 2004, 12:47:40 AM
Im wondering why/if there is a diff and if so which is a better circuit. The Tonepad lists a few xtra parts..2n5485, 1n914, and a 22k.

The main difference is the tonepad layout includes circuitry for the millenium bypass. If you plan on using the millenium, then that's a good thing, otherwise :? GGG uses an existing board layout of JD's and put's it to use for this circuit. Neither is *better*. I built mine on pad-per-hole perf using Jack Orman's schematic and my own layout with a 3PDT for switching.

I love it and use it everyday !!!
Mosfet Boost ROcks...~No Dirt in it.
Compare to LPB...then run a MB into one...

I built the Lpb2 and for what it is-esp low part count and build ease-great..But, i thought there was some distortion leaking into it--w the sound. I thought there had to be something cleaner.
