Title: Buzz Boxx: with pics n' sounds!

Introducing...the Buzz Boxx Muff Fuzz -my first working pedal!  I kinda stole the idea of putting the input and output jacks on the top from that French guy with the cool website.  Anyhow, I made 3 different versions; one with Ge diodes and a boost switch, one with Silicon diodes and no boost switch, and one with 3 DPDT switches to select between any Ge & Si combination and boost.  This is a crappy webcam pic showing the inside (http://users.bigpond.net.au/styrowfoam/buzzboxx/buzzboxx-inside.jpg) of the 3 switch version.  The boost-switch changes R2 from 10k to 22k, but is way too crappy to bother using.

Here are some sound samples:
sample (http://users.bigpond.net.au/styrowfoam/buzzboxx/buzzboxx-gege.mp3) - both germanium diodes selected.
sample (http://users.bigpond.net.au/styrowfoam/buzzboxx/buzzboxx-gesi.mp3) - one germanium & one silicon
sample (http://users.bigpond.net.au/styrowfoam/buzzboxx/buzzboxx-sisi.mp3) - both silicon diodes selected
sample (http://users.bigpond.net.au/styrowfoam/buzzboxx/buzzboxx-sisiod.mp3) - starts with slightly overdriven amp, then effect is switched on
(Epiphone Sorrento > Effect > Marshall Valvestate 100r)

I put Greencaps in the box I made with just silicon diodes and used Ceramics in the box with the diode switches...and I swear they sound different.  The muff fuzz reminds me of those late 60's fuzz tones.

Oh yeah...I'd be keen to hear whether it sounds like anyone else's muff fuzz.  I've never heard an original one.

Sounds good! Nice finish on the box too.

I think different types of caps in certain situations definitely do sound different, FWIW.
