Title: How do I wire that P-Bass Active pickup ???
Post by: Gil on January 20, 2004, 01:44:36 PM
Hi all.

I'm trying to put back two bass pickups in a westone bass. It used to have 2 fender pickups in instead.

It has one J-Bazz style bridge PU and one P-Bass style neck PU

I figured that the J-Bass style PU is passive but I guess that the P-bass style is active cuse it make a REALLY low sound.

I don't quite know how to wire that P-bass Pu. It consists of two seperate PUs each of which has 3 outs. No wires beween them so I need to know how to wire it....

As I said, 3 outs for each unit of the P-Bass PU.

And how do I connect it as an active ? Do I need only a 9v battery or should it have a preamp as well ??

Thanks !!

there are lots of fender wiring diagrams (perhaps all of them?) at http://www.mrgearhead.com . you should be able to dredge something useful out of that, as pretty much every standard p or j configuration is represented.
