Title: Dual AMZ mosfet boosters
Post by: downweverything on January 20, 2004, 03:25:27 PM
I was looking to build something kind of like the zvex super duper with two amz mosfet boosters.  would i have to modify the circuit at all (input output caps etc) besides just using one of the voltage divider part and adding a master volume?

This should answer most of your questions...

thanks, that answers a lot of questions.  looks like that thread got a little nasty.  im not looking for a copy of the super duper nor do i think its the same as the amz one, i just built the amz booster and absolutely loved it and wanted to add a second one in a similar format.  thanks for a great design. :D

Hey man,
This is almost exactly the question I was asking the other day (before the thread got somewhat heated), and I was really just hoping to get some suggestions for master volume pot value, etc.
I don't think you'd need to alter the two circuits in any way, just build them like two effects in a single box. I'm sure you probably know this already, but  anyway, to connect the two boosters internally, simply run from the output lug of Booster 1's switch directly into the input  lug of Booster 2's switch. For the master volume on Booster 2, connect a 100K audio (log) taper pot after Booster 2's .1 output cap.
I haven't tried this yet, but I'm hoping to soon, and I think this will work okay. I love my Mosfet booster, and I really think two in one box (like the SD) would be cool.
