How difficult is it to change a boss OD-1 to a TS9 tubescreamer?
If it is not to intensive, what needs to be changed?

Hi Arn,

I think you're mixing up the OD-1 and OD-2. The OD-2 is very similar to the TS-9, some component values are different. The OD-1 is had also a different schematic and only two pots.

Thank you for the info. I have a friend of mine that was wondering if I could do this for him. That is why I asked. I guess it can be donw, but way too much for the bother , maybe there is a way to make it sound more tube screamer like. Any ideas?

personally he wants it to sound like a TS right. i would gut it. go with the lm386 for the amplification. set it up with a third knob for tone. and build the freq response around it to be like that of a tube screamer.

it wouldn't take but about a half hour. to build it on perf. maybe canabilize the switching circit from his board. that or add truebypass to it.

send me the Od-1 schematic link and i will look and see what else could be done.

Hey Arn, what about build a Tube Reamer for him? You will spend only some parts, and you can use the Boss electronic switch. I think a small piece of perfboard will fill inside of the enclosure without remove anything.

good idea, there munky. i was goin to say that earlier, but you beat it too me. :) also check the tube reamer thread tehre are some mods i posted about it, for a littel icreased response
