Title: Tycho brahe tube/ solid state sound
Post by: jimbob on January 24, 2004, 10:06:51 PM
When i built this octave effect it sounded great with my solid state..Now that i have a tube amp i hear little to no octave effect--mostly distortion..Where did it go? What can i change to get more octave? I dont mind the distortion--in fact i like that part. I just want the octave back.

sounds like you've got too much signal going into the amp - pad it down with a pot

How do you have the *fuzz* knob set? I almost always use my TB Oct. with the fuzz rolled all the way off to bring out the octave. If I want more distortion I run a Fuzz Face after it. If you really like Fuzz & Octave from the same box, try the Foxx Tone Machine.

You can get a better octave or more octave sound if you turn all the tone knobs on your guitar to 0.
