I was wondering How I would remove the pot knobs on my BD-2 to get at the inards of the pedal. I didn't see any screw holes. Do i just yank until they come off??! Also, has anyone modded this pedal using the Suggestions made by Robert keeley?? Sounds like a great mod, but pretty pricey...even for a DIY. I want to do this mod, but want some feedback from people who've actually have a modded version (I don't really trust those "personal testimonies" on the website...they could be full of b.s.). What's the point of modding a pedal if it's not worth the money/time/and potential problems?
Thanks
The knobs are push-ons. Just pull them off. Be careful when removing the nut that retains the pot. I scratched the hell out of the face on one of my Boss pedals removing a pot.
Most of my boss pedal's faces are allready scratched badly, hehe
on the topic of boss pedals, does any one know how robert keeley does his 'seeing eye mod' to the ds-1's? sorry if i sound like a newb... :(
thanx

I'm not familiar, but what I do know is that he replaces some of the stock components with different values, and he uses a blinking LED as part of the clipping circuit. Hey I have a blinking LED. :D But anyway...
hmmm... prehaps a little explaination is in order then :)
what it does is it goes brighter as you play harder, i spose its really simple... just wondering if anyone had a like to the schem for it?
thanx

No, no. If memory serves me correctly, the seeing eye mod uses the LED or Light Emitting Diode to clip the signal, instead of a 1n914 I believe it is. A blinking LED clips the signal even more differently. It's just part of the clipping circuit.
thanks guys
