I just saw that new effect at the music store.
Somebody's been lurking and taking notes or what?.
Tim?

Some time ago I was very interested in it but all I heard was that it's a piece of crap!
I believe there where some soundfiles - after all I don't think it sounds like a sitar. Maybe it could please someone who doesn't want a sitar sound
I tried one of those last week-end in a local music store. I was not impressed. It made an interesting noise but was nothing like a sitar. It seemed to be a mixture of slow flanging and octave down mixed in. There was also a kind of tone control that tamed the screeching a little. It may have been more useful if they had provided controls for the flanging depth and speed and some control over the octave/dry mix.
OTOH, if you can get one cheap it may be a good candidate for modding....
Cheers,
Peter
Oh.......I thought it could be a JAwari of sorts.

No no no, this thing is nowhere near as cool as the jawari. It's really not a sitar effect at all, it's a reverb+flanging+distortion+EQ+a tiny bit of octave sort of stuff. I modded one for Ian Miller, just a terrible pedal. Not the sort of thing that nonconformists are like "Oh, man, I'm going to use this and be cool since EVERYONE hates it" because when they try it they say "God, this is terrible. This is just too far."

I heard (somewhere?) that it sounded kinda cool on bass. Anyone try that?

I have never had the chance to try one, but I have heard only terrible things about it.
kinda cool ~
my buddy fom "red cloud" used it in a recording with a tele, and a slide.. and it sounded pretty amazing after it was mastered. i was impressed, but alot of it was probably his playing style, and his great gear..
