Is this do-able? One of these would be pretty nice to make a more mobile setup.
Thanks.
This may be a starting point..

I was pursuing this for a while, but RF seems to be one of those things that I can't get to work. Anyway, using an FM transmitter is illegal in most countries, you'd want a UHF transmitter/reciever and those seem to be expensive (looking at wireless unit prices).
If anyone comes up with a good project, I'm definately in 8)
There should be a DIY wireless project from ETI on my site. Comments about it indicate that it can serve nicely while saving up for your Samson or Nady but you shouldn't stop saving up for them.

I believe liking products/manufacturers exist. Such modules are not cheap but one benefit worth considering is they are maybe approved and legal. In most countries it is illegal to transmit at what ever frequecies, you know. If you tried this kind of activity in Finland years ago (when pirate radio stations were hot stuff), police would come and take your illegal transmitter away, and took huge amount of money out your wallet or even put you in jail. But really dunno is the sound quality good enough, but I believe there are specs online.
There was interesting article/project maybe last year Elektor Electronics, used a Holtek chip for remote control by wireless means.
 PS (edited) One company that sells some of liking modules have a fair warning at their website: "Don´t buy these if you don´t know what you are doing". Really dunno enough, commercial "pro" wireless units use "true diversity" or something technology for good signal, and maybe are not very easy diy job.
Just a thought, but wouldn't it be possible to rip the parts from a cheap wireless headphone?
Cheap wireless headphones usually use IR to transmit signals. Think about the dilemma if someone stood in between your guitar and the IR reciever! That would suck! So that's not really a good idea ;)
:o Hey does anybody know the technology some newish effects have an infrared sender, so I believe. I mean like Korg Pandora has some infrared diodes but dont remember having seen any standalone receiver diy or standalone (maybe I need glasses)
There was some super simple infrared send and receive circuits around several years ago, just a (small/medium) power fet drivin three infrared leds in series, and receiver was just as simple, again with power fet simple class A circuit (very like the circuit that was under discussion some months ago, simple single-ended fet small pwr amp thingie). But that would be just for hobby experiments and few metres only, and please, no stage lightning, smoke machines or bright sunlight.
