I rarely find anything on this forum that is of value to me anymore as I only build stuff that uses trannys and maybe a germ diode. Everything I love was made before 1970. But out of curiosity I looked at that thing on the index called iSi. I saw that thing on 63/37 solder. So Radioshack is two blocks away. So went and got some fresh air and two rolls of 63/37 solder. All I can say is thank you Peter you God of a man! I played with it some and it has made my work much much easier and nicer. I think I'm gonna stock up on 63/37 solder. The other solder I use has found a new home at the dump. :D
Thanks Peter
:D
Thanks Bluesgeetar!
It is my life's mission to convert the DIY world to 63/37.
I haven't tried it yet, but Erik Miller has added to the solder saga by discovering one with improved flux (low fumes). I haven't tried it yet, but this thread: http://diystompboxes.com/sboxforum/viewtopic.php?t=18206 mentions type "405". Hmmm.... now searching at Kester I don't see a type 405?!? http://www.kester.com/en-us/products/prodcat_results.aspx?ind=-1&pt=-1&chem=-1&lf=q
Erik, if you're listening, is 405 the magic number?
Take care,
-Peter
