Title: Is that guitar? What effect/s are used. Steely Dan song....
Post by: BillyJ on February 07, 2004, 02:31:46 PM
The song that goes "You go back jack do it again"...
Is that even a guitar? Sounds like it is but with some really cool sitar effect.
How did that crafty Skunk do that....anyone???
Thanks!

Coral electric sitar probably. Copys/improvements of which are made by Jerry Jones these days.

Actually, in this case it was the oft-overlooked Dennis Dias playing electric sitar (according to the liner notes).

You may want to give a shot at Tim Escobedo's "Jawari" effect.  Other than scoring the appropriate transformer, there's not much to it, and the sitar-like filter effect is passable when mixed in with a bunch of other instruments.
