Title: FF / SMALL STONE QUESTIONS
Post by: Ricardo Antunes on February 10, 2004, 06:29:46 AM
HY FRIENDS!!!!
ABOUT THE FF:
HOW CAN I ADD A TONE CONTROL TO A FUZZ FACE BASIC CIRCUIT (WITH ROGER MAYER MODS)?

ABOUT THE SMALL STONE:
-THAT DPDT SWITCH WHERE GOES THE CA, IS IT FOR TRUE BYPASS OR  ONLY A ON/OFF SWITCH? IN THE LAST CASE, COULD I FIX ONLY THE ON POSITION AND ADD A DPDT SWITCH FOR TRUE BYPASS?

-HOW DO I SOLVE THE VOLUME DROP WHEN THE EFFECT IS ON?

For the Small Stone Fixes...
For the FF...I like the Colorsound OD Tone Control.
I don't know that the basic FF has enough push to drive through a passive TC.
Look at the EZ Face for the Input Blend Mod,
You can cut the bass at input [smaller incap], and you can roll off the highs [smalll cap to ground at output].
I use the small cap across the pots signal and middle lug, and that lets a little more highs out. [FF's are  not generally known for strong high end].
One good way to fix the Vol drop of the SS, is throw a clean [ish?]booster on it's output...then Vol control [including boost] is no prob.
