Hey everyone, I have just finished building a pedal for Joe Stump (a shred guitar guy). It’s just a copy of a DOD 250 with a tone control, fat switch, and a couple of component changes. But he likes it. According to him, it’s warmer than the YJM pedal, and less fuzzy than the old 250, and quieter than both. He’s using the prototype right now on his new album, and will be using it when playing live. I feel very lucky!!

Feel free to build it, but please don’t post it (even a redraw of it, which as I understand it would be perfectly legal to do), or use Joe Stump’s name in association with it. I am hoping to sell a few on his website. I run his site, and sell some merch for him there. Thanks!
But I have some questions…
Does anyone have a program to do a PCB? I know that you can download one (Express PCB, I think), but how hard is it to learn? Also, I don’t have the ability to do the etching, and don’t really want to try (too many chemicals â€" I have a preemie baby and we live in a tiny house, and the chemicals make me a little nervous). Which brings me to my second question.
Would anyone be interested in etching some boards? I figure if they are small enough, 6-8 could be done on one board? I would be more than happy to cut them and drill the holes. I could pay you or send you a finished pedal or something.
Third question: he wants a black finish with red lettering (pretty intricate lettering, too). What’s my best bet for accomplishing this? And the easiest way? I would only be doing this one pedal. I was thinking of doing the rest with a full-sized sticker. You know do bumpersticker type stuff that would cover the entire top of the box. Has anyone tried this?
And my last question is: any suggestions on this whole “building a pedal and trying to sell a couple on a website� I have no intention of going big with this. Just a few pedals to finance building a few more. You know the drill!!! But any suggestions would be welcome!

General Guitar Gadgets sells a pre-made board for the 250. You may be able to use it, depending on how much you modded the circuit.
