Hi,
I built the Deluxe BazzFuss and it sounds good but I would like more fuzz. Can I add a BC557C transistor in row to get more fuzz?
Here is the schematic:

You could make a darlington pair, that will result in a gain equal to the 2 transistors' gain multiplied. So two transistors with a gain of 10 will create a tranny with a gain of 100. What you do is this: (in ascii)
C
/
B-| C
\ /
E---B|
\
E
The collector is common but I couldn't make that work in the ascii art. That'll give you more gain and probably more fuzz ;) But you could also just use a transistor with a higher gain.

so that is right?
Yup but I think darlington pairs only work for bipolar transistors, I haven't the faintest if it works for FETs. I haven't tried anyway :D
The MPSA13 already is a darlington transistor. You can increase the 2.2uF input cap to 10uF for more volume and fuzz.
Or, the DBF may simply not be what you're looking for. Rather than attempt to redesign it, you may be better off trying a different fuzz design.
 O crap I really embarassed myself there :D

Best thing I know in this circuit for more fuzz is a Schottky diode instead of the 1N914/1N4148. It'll give LOTS more crunch per unit volume. With a 2N5918 my bazz fuss is one of the fuzziest pedals I own (ie it's got more raw fuzz than a fuzzface, easyface, tube-sound fuzz, and Miss Piggy)
