Title: hooking up wah pedal in series with fuzz
Post by: dcheyne on February 22, 2004, 07:47:06 PM
I get nothing out of the amp when I try to hook up my wah and distortion in series.I suspect this is due to an impedence mismatch between the two, hindering max power transfer. I don't know much about combining effects. Do you have any suggestions for solving this problem?
Thanks a lot.

I think you have something wrong connected.Check all your wires, your power supply etc and be careful to place the pedals correct...

I used to make the mistake all the time before I marked ins and outs...
 Make sure you're going Guitar>efkt IN>efkt OUT>Efkt IN> Efkt OUt > Amp in..
I would test them one at a time to see if one has a problem.

if you had impedance mismatching you'd probably get a signal, unless you actually grounded the signal path :) It might sound wierd and gatey though. What are you putting first?

Are they both battery powered, or running from power supplies? There could be a problem if the grounds are at different levels (e.g. one split power supply, the other not).
