Post by: mr_winter on February 23, 2004, 02:00:53 PM
HI!

I have a rare problem with a DD-3 BOSS:

when I play a same note, a hiss fuzzy sound appears in the background the procesed sound...

I try with the schematic searching the trouble, but I supposed that is the NE 570 distort the sound... (I test each TR or FET and each OP-AMp, and all is in order...)

and when I move the feedback or delay pots to max., sudden appear this fuzzy sound very loud!!!! ... that stink...

please... anybody can help me??????

Is the battery low? I have a DD-2 and when the battery gets below 8v it starts distorting the wet sound rather nastily.

Hey man!!!

you can have reason...

look... I supose that dd-2 it´s equal to dd-3, because I have the schematic & he says dd-2/3...

And every parts match with the schematic....

but...
I supply whit a battery with 9v and the check LED is half ON (like if the battery is low)...

maybe have a trouble with the caps.  by the jack of power suply???

other question:

do you know if is dangerous modifier the trimpots of clock???
rt1 & rt1b???
this trimpots CONTROL the IC 74hc00 (nand gates) and modifier the time delay, modific the clock of MAIN CONTROLLER

sorry for my bad english... I hope that you understood...

Well I try my best to understand anything, not a problem at all my friend.

I think it's your battery. If the LED isn't lighting properly then that's a sure sign that it needs replacing. If the problem persists with a new battery than there's a problem. Changing the trimmers for the clocks won't do you any good, it'll just throw it off-bias and stop working.

The DD-2 and DD-3 are identical, but BOSS needed an excuse to change the lettering on top and also the parts got cheaper. It's all in marketing I suppose :)

Try 2 spoonfuls of Dulce De Leche then try again! How's things in Argentina? We were last there in March 2002, just when the Government allowed folks to draw some dollars. We stayed in BA with my wife's cousin then visited Mendosa, Valle de la Luna, & San Juan. Where do you live?

hello my friends. the day of today I checked with another one bateria
and in addition also with a power supply with the battery less time
was solved to the problem of the noise behind the processed signal
but, when I moved potenciometer of "delay" towards the left, that is,
appears suddenly the echo with a volume very hard and distorted. I
clarify that this happens when I have pot. of feedback to
max. if I return to put pot. of delay in its but high
rank, that is with slow, single time east sound disappears, if I
return it to turn to the left appears terribly. if I put to the
minimum feedback, the distorted sound does not take place to leave,
but I very listen to it the bottom... this has to me really crazy with
the power supply passed something strange: directly the pedal does not
offer processed signal if they are not the 9 volts first, I I proved
with a source of 12v, because she was the one that tapeworm by hand,
and it passed that delay was listened to soon infinitely short, I to
me I put a voltage regulator to him (7809) and began to work delay of
new then I ask myself, that is what it is happening, if the circuit of
the clock is the one that is affected by the change of voltage?
because I clarify that I would have to work because on the other hand
has a regulator of 5v for the microprocessor... I moved trimpots rt1
and rt1b of a form of which she does not distort so much to me the
sound... but also I discovered that these trimpots stop a little to me
the subito sprouting of feedback totally uncontrolled... in any case
that distorsion and that feedback always uncontrolled appears of minor
or greater measurement when I move potenciometro of delay. I return to
clarify that this happens to me when I move potenciometro of feedback
in but of 50%, thanks friends!

Comment that if I am of Argentina and I live in the capital city of
cordoba. you do not imagine them beautiful women that they live in
this country, specially in cordoba, by something says the people who
the woman of cordoba is but the pretty one of Argentinean, and the
woman of Argentinean is but the pretty one of the world...

a hug to all and please... help me!

Bugger. Could you open it up, see if there is anything loose? I have a DD-2 so if something's gone loose I can crack mine open and have a look.

nastinesses but... and a pair of pedals of distorsion the more also to
fix... I dí him its opportunity, but it did not know it to take
advantage of... jajaja
