Title: Radio interference - the 0.001 cap cure???
Post by: Chris S on February 26, 2004, 04:14:14 AM
I'm sure I read some where that putting a 0.001 cap from either the input to the effect or the output of an effect will stop rasio interference...

Is this true and is it attached the input or the output?

Or is there another way around it (this one is as simple as it gets I guess)

Certainly a 0.001uF cap from either input or output to ground will conduct RF energy to ground.  It MAY also take a little high-frequency audio, depending on the output impedance of the previous stage and the effect.

Simplest way to find out is to put the cap there and run a high frequency signal (I use white noise) through the effect.

Cool, it's for bass so hopefully that will be okay
