What would that be. A diode pair maybe? ;)

Which was the nonsense part? Are you claiming it doesn't work? If it indeed is a cheap copy of the Black Ice unit, people seem to like that well enough.* Anyway, Ebay does not promote nonsense, it's the individual people who sell stuff there.

Some super easy to get clipping diodes?
Would it necessarily have to be in the guitar?

No its not a coincidence.  its me.  i have been hangin out over there for sometime.   But bryan was on the same track as i was with his hotstick.  i told him about the shotckys as we were talking about this some time ago on the forum  and when i found the right diodes i built a couple of them. nice really if you have hot pickups.. course it dont' take mouch to make the shotckys break up.

The title of this thread reminds me of a thread I saw when I was a frequent visitor at the ampage forum. About 3 or 4 years ago, someone posted a link to an ebay auction where this guy wasn't selling a tangeable object, but rather a service: The auction was, in essence, "to kick your ass". So, in other words, he would go kick the winners butt. That's all the auction was for. What made it really hilarious is that people put in bids!

I'm still waiting for something to top that one.

A ghost caught in a jar, huh? Was it Casper? And did they lure it into the jar I wonder...

That's a pretty good one.

I was at my local book store a while back and there was a book there that had "strange things" sold on ebey. Everything from "the last pickle in the jar", toe nails etc., but the best one was a guy sold "nothing" and sold it for $3.10 (including shipping)

A while ago someone there was a guy auctioning off his virginity, and lately the New York phone number (area code 212) 867-5309 was going for tens of thousands of dollars.

Stew-Mac seems pretty reasonable about most things, but $27.50 for two diodes in a plastic cube?

Title: Air Guitar
Post by: 12StringStratMaker on March 07, 2004, 07:27:21 PM
My favourite was a guy selling an air guitar (aka air).  He had a full description, how often it was "used", previous owners, and I swear I'm not kidding, it sold for at least ten thousand dollars,
WTF, are people stupid?

E-bay and Pete Cornish pedals seem excessive at times, but for a real laugh I reckon modern art is tops.  Pollack sells for US$20 MILLION per square yard.  Or pay a million for Andy W's picture of a can of soup.  I think a lot of the blame can be attributed to Duchamp, who declared that a "bottlerack" and a "urinal" (signed) were art, and was subsequently regarded as one of the greatest artists of the 20th century (True!).

And you'd have to wonder whether Manzoni was serious when he canned his own shit and sold it.  Those cans fetch amazing prices when they come up for auction!!

Did you know that the Luwak is the same cat that was supposed to be the origin of the SARS virus?  As if there wasn't ENOUGH reason NOT to PUT YOUR LIPS ON ANYTHING THAT'S BEEN NEAR A CATS HINEY!

"Why oh why" is exactly right.  :-)
