Post by: leonhendrix on March 09, 2004, 08:19:13 AM
I've heard there is a mod where u can turn the transformer off, so it turns off the octave and u can just have the fuzz but i cant find it anywhere.

thanx

It's not the transformer, it's the diodes that create octave-up rectification. Diconnect one of the diodes completely and take signal from another end of the windin, not thru the second diode. Full Fuzz.

Look, I'm in the university right now, in the computer centre, so I can't really draw. You will have to use  your imagination.
Iamgine a schematic (upper-lower will apply as per drawing)
Run wires from:
1) the "outer" end of the lower diode
2) the "input" end of output capacitor
3) the upper end of the output of the tranformer

Use a DPDT ON-ON type switch

One setting of the switch has to connect the lower diode output to the input of the output cap
Other setting should brake the abovementioned connection and short out the upper diode
