Hi ! I've just finished to build a Malmsteen Signature DOD308 clone and i'd like to add a led using the millenium bypass.. but here noone seems to have BS170 or 2N7000 mosfets... can you tell me some equivalent transistors that i can use instead of those ? :)
Thank you !!
2N5485 works.

:P thanks !!
The Millenium 2 uses a MOSFETs like the 2N7000 and the BS170.
The Millenium 1 uses JFETs like the 2N5485.
They are not interchangeable.
A good sub for the 2N7000 and the BS170 is one of the MOSFETs in a CD4007 logic chip. With some rearrangement, a CMOS inverter can be used in the Millenium Bypass circuit pretty easily. I can draw up a schemo if needed.
R.G.,
I just finished building the Mill 1 bypass layout that you have on your site. I was just curious if this is correct since it only has one resistor listed and there are two on the schematic. Is this correct?
Thanks,
Buck
Try Joe Davisson's LED trick. The Transistor value is more common.

what's with the HIGH EFFICIENCY LED?
was'tha'mean?
simple: it means it's waaay bright for a given voltage/current. More light at the same power means more efficiency.
Get any high brightness LED. They're used to keep battery consumption down: they need less current to light just as much as a regular LED.
Joe's trick works....but it also POPs
